Kiss my ass El Toro Water District
Nov. 21st, 2006 09:52 amOkay so I am home sick again today and I was going through yesterday's mail. I got my water bill. Okay, but then I open it up and it is $71 because they didn't get last month's money and I am now overdue and they will shut my water off on the 30th.
The hell you say what?
So I check online with my credit union. Yup, it cleared on 11/1/06 and it was a manual check because El Toro Water Dist. apparently can't do online transactions with banks, or at least not mine.
So I call El Toro Water and speak to some woman who starts out with, "Yeah we never got your money..." "...Oh wait, we got the check but sent it back to your bank because it didn't have the account number on it." I said, "You mean the 11xxx number?" And she says, "Yeah, your account number." So I ask her, "Okay well I have never been late on a bill and as you can see I wasn't late on this one, so should I send you a check for the full amount, or just this month's?" And she tells me that they will charge me a $15 fee if I stop payment on my own check and to call my bank. She seemed really confused.
So I call my credit union, whom I love with all of my heart, and they researched it and the check hasn't gotten back to them yet, but he will stop payment on that check, I will not be charged any sort of fee, and to go ahead and pay the full amount. The money will credit back to my account today. He was very concerned as to why they returned the check because they do list the full account number. I thanked him for his help and said I would call ETWD back and figure out wth?
So I call back, I get another woman who I explain everything to and tell her I am going to put a check in the mail for the full amount, and to put a note in my account that it wasn't late. She said, "Well for the future, we need the FULL account number." I said, "The 11xxx number?" And she says, "Well that and the 24xxxx6 number too." (That would be the service id, not the account number, why did they suddenly change and why didn't the previous woman tell me that?)
So I changed it online with my credit union and I am mailing an old fashioned check the old fashioned way today.
*sigh*
