I've been bitching off and on lately about wanting to learn a musical instrument - more specifically either the viola or a big ass cello. I'm pretty damn cheap, so I don't want to pay some private place for lessons when most places are either geared towards those who have past musical experience, or kids. I don't fall into either of these categories.
I should also add that the extent of my music ability amounts to slowly strumming out the bass cords to "Seven Nation Army."
I've looked into the local community colleges and everything is geared towards day students, or the experienced ones who want to go on to perform in orchestras. Again, not falling into either category.
The community classes are also either for kids, or senior citizens... no luck there.
So I noticed at my church-away-from-church yesterday that there was a new note in the bulletin about music lessons being available. So I called today since I didn't have time yesterday to swing by the information table. The woman told me they have lessons for "just about everything BUT wind instruments." Well allrighty then.
