Traffic School
Apr. 2nd, 2004 12:09 amNow this is my third time going to traffic school, although I admit that it has been about 10 years since I last went. I heard all these horror stories about Harbor Court and people being kicked out for the smallest thing. My friend Sarah had to go too, but she was in another classroom from me.
I got the better teacher. Everyone was goofing off, he'd ask questions and it'd be like "Buehler?" He spent most of the first half telling us all about himself - talk radio stints, places he's lectured at, all I could think was "Who in the hell cares?" But it made the time pass. I finally read "The Lesson" from Walter, and that was some good light reading that I could do without being obviously doing something else.
Sarah got some Traffic Nazi who kicked a few people out for goofing off.
We all filled out this page in our workbook, it was all about attitudes and crap. We didn't have to turn it in or have it graded. To the question of what ticks me off in other drivers, I said "1 - them driving in front of me, behind me, and to my sides. 2 - Them having nicer cars than me. 3 - People who drive the speed limit." (Sorry L...) The guys behind me talked constantly about life and work. It was a total joke. When Sarah and I met up after class, she said that she had done a lot of thinking about her driving skills. I almost burst out laughing, like "Who are you?" So one class down, one more to go next week.
