I'm feeling funky. I haven't been on a normal sleep schedule since throwing myself headfirst into the patio slider and now the last few days I've been fighting off a cold (which as of today has officially beat me in the battle.)
Today I went to Knott's Berry Farm with the Big Sisters of OC program. I really didn't want to go because of the heat and summer crowds; but Amalia called and said that they were basically in a panic because they can only have two "Littles" per "Big," and they were running out of time. *sighs* okay, I'll go. Even though the Littles in the Bright Futures program are 7th grade and above, I was somehow convinced I'd spend a day in Purgatory (
First we hit the Silver Bullet, then it was off to the Ghost Rider. I hadn't been to Knott's in AGES and it's like they've built a whole new theme park. She also thought I was the "coolest Big ever" because I packed lunches that could be eaten while standing in line so we didn't loose any ride time. Everyone else met back at the entrance at
So then of course on the way home; my body reminds me, "Hey stupid - you're sick." Onward ho with the migraine, runny nose and cough. I came home and took a nap (
In other not-even-closely-related-news, Stacy educated me that a "clove" of garlic is not the same as a "head" of garlic. Now I'm realizing why things tasted strong all these years when I was eyeballing teaspoons of pressed garlic from TJ's in measuring out the amounts. She also introduced me to the not-so-icky world of fresh baby green beans. I can now expand my realm of veggies I'm willing to eat: corn, Ralph's canned green beans, and Stacy's fresh green beans. The world is my oyster.
Angelina adopted another baby (my hero), Tom-Kat are still engaged, Bennifer are having a girl and I have no idea why I care about any of this.
