Dec. 8th, 2006 01:51 pmSo I am working on a mailing of about 4,500 (I got it down from close to 6,000) and almost everything that could go wrong has.
I ordered clear labels so that we wouldn't have to babysit the printer and shove envelopes through the manual feed tray (because it gets hot after a short while and starts to crumple the envelopes) but those won't be in until Monday.
Our HP printer won't print more then 5 pages at a time. If you try to send 6+, it gives you an error and doesn't process the job.
Our Lexmark printer (less than a year old) has been having software issues (so it says) and the only thing we can do is, "print current page." If you try and print more, it will print the phrase "ID" at the top left corner instead of your document. It won't print envelopes (it used to, and it made a sound like a muffled machine gun.)
So we are trying to print the document page by glorious page on the Lexmark, and small amounts of envelopes at a time on the HP (until it starts getting paper jams and then we let it cool down.)
I've been on the phone with our helpdesk for a long time today and they finally sent someone out. He scratched his head and said he is going to try and get Lexmark to send another printer out on Monday or Tuesday.
This is almost too funny for words.
