ocnative: (medicated)
So today I went and saw an endodontist for my tooth problem. I was feeling pretty pessimistic since my own dentist said, "Well I don't know what's wrong, we're going to learn as we go through this together," and this was the second specialist in a week.

But still I went. And he figured it out. Basically it was the tooth behind my root canal. It had been given a crown but not a root canal, so my raw tooth nub was being constantly irritated by the crown. He said that this happens every so often and since they specialize in root canals and stuff, it was no big deal for him to fix.

So it cost me some out-of-pocket money (let's just say my health savings account has been depleted for the year), but I finally had someone tell me that he knew what was wrong, that it was fixable, and that I didn't have to have a tooth removed. I wanted to break down and hug the man for making me feel better.

Of course I'm not feeling so hot now that the novacain wore off and I'm in a lot of pain despite the Vicodin, but knowing there is a light at the end of the tunnel is amazing.

And Chris took me out to Olive Garden so I wouldn't have to cook. I had the all-you-can-eat soup and breadsticks and it was fantastic. Just what I needed.
