Daily obits
Nov. 5th, 2007 09:25 amAs a part of my job, I go through to obituaries every day and check the names against names in our database to make any updates needed.
I read an obit a week ago and I still can't erase it from my memory. It was for an old woman. The next of kin listed in the obit was her ex-husband. It overwhelmed me with a feeling like she died alone. That her failed marriage was the last "notable" mark on the record of her life. It just made me really sad. I hope that her life wasn't as bland as her obit and that she was surrounded with friends if not family that loved her.
Maybe I'm hormonal or something.
