Here is what I posted to marvelousmail

My package from stargazercrys rocks!

I took pictures with my camera, downloaded the pictures to my computer, and then emailed them to myself here at work.

Except that it was late and what I wound up emailing myself were the shortcuts, which aren't the same thing as the files and now I feel like a complete dork.

So I will make two posts.

I got my package from NEW JERSEY. Now as my name might imply, I haven't gotten out of Orange County all that much. The closest I have been to New Jersey is a trip last year to Pennsylvania, watching Sopranos, loving Garden State, and watching the New Jersey Devils play the Anaheim Ducks. (Who knew that the hockey team's name came after the legend of a creature that roams the woods???) I didn't!

I was blown away at the creativity of the package. Instead of being filled with stuff, it was filled with a book of You know you're from New Jersey when... and then she added all of these handwritten personal notes to the pages. I had only recently head that New Jersey was one of two states that don't let you pump your own gas!

Then she included a college newspaper, where she's on the front cover! Apparently she's making quite an impact on her school and her passion for her beliefs is awesome.

She also hand made me a sign that has all kinds of statistical facts about where she's from (like the median income, education level and population.) Her creativity rocks!

For awhile I got such a kick out of reading the daily rags about celebrities making complete asses out of themselves. Nowadays, it's just kinda of boring. Lisa Marie Pressley is knocked up. Anyone care? Not me.

Now I'm counting down the days until the end of my class (three more weeks), the end of the class I'm taking with Chris (one more week,) and going back to a life of normal where I only have one committment per week, and that's my small group. I can hardly wait for my tank of gas to last me more than 5 days at a time before needing to refill. Maybe I'll even get Grayce (my WoW fire mage) to get to level 50 or higher.

I stil love my job. Yes there are boring times, and yes sometimes I have dull projects, but overall I love what I do and I love my co-workers and I love my office.

Last night's class with Chris was good, it was about money and budgeting (one of my favorite topics.) It inspired me that even though the stock market isn't doing so well, that doesnt mean that I should be sinking all of my money in short-term savings accounts with higher than normal interest rates like my Summer Saver account with the credit union. I need the retirement money to snowball for me so I need to set up a monthly auto plan that I dont have to think about to compliment what I'm contributing to at work. Then I'll cross my fingers and remind myself that the IRA is for the LONG TERM.

Last night's LOST wasn't as good as the week before, even though I got my fill of the lovely and ever so creepy Ben ("Because you're MINE! ....Take all the time you need.") I'm dying to know more about Jacob's list and whether or not Ben caused 815 to crash. People on the boards keep making reference to the tempest in the show with Shakespear's Tempest. I wish I knew what they were talking about, but sadly even though I had honors English all 4 years, I went to public school.
