The first step...

The Ducks placed Mathieu Schneider on waivers Tuesday in the latest chapter of a summer-long episode to move the veteran defenseman.

The team has been trying to trade Schneider, who is due $5.625 million this season, to get under the NHL’s 2008 salary cap and free up money to sign Teemu Selanne. (HAPPY DANCE!!!!!!)

Schneider signed a two-year, $11.25 million deal with the Ducks last summer but became expendable when Scott Niedermayer later returned to the team and decided to play this season as well.

Schneider, 39, had 12 goals and 27 assists with a plus-22 rating in 65 games in 2007-08.

***

I KNOW this sucks ass for Schneider fans, but hopefully the Kings will pick him up and we have to get under that cap anyways.

OHMYGOSH it's almost hockey season - I CAN'T WAIT!

Less than a month away from the Home opener. :)

I know... they have already updated twice but I haven't posted them. They think Selanne will bite for $500k which just goes to show he is in it to play, not just the cash or endorsements.

I am licking my chops already...

HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY. I cant wait to see what happens the first time one of Ben's football games is on at the same time as hockey. That boy is going to be bloody!

See you need to either set up your house like ours (2 humans, 3 TV sets) or teach that boy that hockey kicks ass over football.

We're going to have to take the season schedule into consideration when planning game for the next few months too. (That is, if they friggin broadcast the games.)

No. 1 tv is fine. We dont need any more. Okey dokey. Most of the games that got broadcast last year were real time so evenings usually.

Well Saturday games sometimes have an earlier start time and I recall when we had that other Chris DM and he ran long, I would just turn on the TV anyways.

I'm all about watching the game while the boys finish playing.
