So... a few updates.
Just when I was feeling kicked in the teeth by the city of Irvine I got a letter yesterday saying, "Congratulations, you've passed the initial review and we want to schedule you for an oral interview!" Yup - it's next Thursday at 2:15. (What to wear, what to wear???)
I'm flying to Hawaii to attend a friend's wedding next month. I've never been to Hawaii and am a bit nervous about navigating around the island by myself, but I am really looking forward to it. I had told the bride that I couldn't afford to go (even with sharing a room with a co-worker of hers) and then she asked me if I'd go if they paid for the hotel and she helped me secure a cheap (and direct out of Orange County) flight. Hawaii: here I come. I'm going to hit up my hotel roomie to share the rental car too. Since I know some of the guests already - I think it'll be fun, especially because I haven't seen them in a bit.
Apparently hockey is going to be aired on the OLN channel. If you thought "WTF" I must say I am right there with you. So I e-mail Cox and ask them if they even get this channel. I get a response that yeah they do and it's on some fucking family package tier and I can get the tier for only $3.95 extra per month. As if my Cox bill isn't high fucking enough already. And of course I'll be getting the Center Ice package, so I wonder if with Center Ice, I'll get the same games that'll be on OLN? I'm going to call them. Pre-season starts next week...
A friend is selling her living room furniture. I've always envied her living room furniture. The spender in me thought, "I wonder if I can sell mine and..." I was already re-decorating the living room in my head. But you know what? My stuff is paid for, so that just needs to be that. The things I really want / need are: pay my taxes, put more into retirement, plasma TV set for the wall, fridge, and new kitchen counters and cabinets.
