I think I finally have to admit that I just don't care who wins the Presidency. I don't like any of the Republican candidates, and I'm pretty sure that the Democrats are going to win anyways. Between those two candidates, I would prefer to see Obama in the White House, even though he is the most liberal Senator we have. Anything to keep Bill from messing up the sheets again I suppose.

I am tired of the anti-McCain campaigns that are all over my talk radio shows because if he winds up to the front runner they are going to have to do a lot of back-peddling to try and sway the undecided over to the Republican ticket.

I've had three people ask me if I've voted already today and my response is that along with 55% of the rest of the voters in Orange County, I mailed it in weeks ago. Because I was registered as Independent, I wasn't allowed to vote for either the Republicans or Democrats, so I abstained from voting for some no-name on the Independent ticket and focused on the propositions instead. I guess that puts me slightly ahead of the poor people who voted for candidates who've since dropped out of the race, thus making their vote worthless.

While it is probably niave, I'm frustrated with the number of states whose votes don't count because they are being punished for moving their date up. Wouldn't it be great if we had just one day for all 50 states to hold their primaries? All of the candidates would have to get moving early and get their voices heard and then it would be over. It would be much later in the year and states wouldn't be swayed by other "landfalls" or wind up voting for chumps who bail out early. Then we could get on with our lives and not be held hostage to the media pundits.

Oh to dream of such wild things...

Onto other fascinating news of my life, I went to my bible study group last night and asked one of the women there if her hair was naturally light brown with what seems to be the most-perfectly-placed highlights and she not only said that it was dyed, but that she did it herself with a brush kit and would gladly show me how to do it. Since my hair is natually freakishly gray and grows fast, I don't see the reason in getting it professionally done and have been using alternating shades of Nice and Easy since high school. If I can figure out how to get my hair to look half as good as hers at home ("for about $5") I am all over that. I don't plan on going blonde, but with warmer weather around the corner, it's time to lighten up the dark brownish-red I've been sporting for the last few months.
