PSA about Staples
Mar. 4th, 2008 04:48 pmApparently Staples.com frequently shows a cheaper price on items then what they have in the store. So if you go there looking for something in particular, print out the page online before you go because they will give you the cheaper price. (They also price match competitors.)
Case in point, I wanted to buy a scanner and wanted to use a coupon I got for $25 off of a purchase of $50 or more. The scanner was $79.98 online, but I couldn't use my coupon for an online order (bummer, because shipping was free.) Well it was $89.98 in the store. So when I took it to the register, I mentioned the price difference. The cashier said, "Well if you bring in a printout of what you saw, we can match it."
She said it in an offhand kind of way and her jaw dropped a bit when I pulled out the piece of paper and said, "Like this?"
So I got the $25 off for the coupon, and I got it for the online price too.
Woo hoo!
