So a very long time ago I got a Patricia Cornwell book at a yard sale. I think I paid a quarter for it. The paperback's cover was chewed up at the top, but there is another spot on the cover that is cut away to reveal something underneath. (It's a horror novel.) So I guess in the back of my mind, I thought it was intentional.
It was one of the first books I listed on swaptree, before I really read what the categories should mean (as far as the condition of the book.) I listed it as "like new."
Well someone proposed a swap for a new hardcover book I've been interested in. I pulled my paperback book out and realized just how not "like new" it really is. So I went out on my lunch break and got a new copy. It's still an old book and a paperback, so I paid just under $10. Since the time it was originally published, they re-released it with a new cover that's totally updated and made my old one look that much shabbier LOL.
So I am sending the new book with a funny note and re-posting my old book with an accurate description of the cover. The pages are fine and to me it still looks kind of authentic LOL. I've done two swaps for CD's without cases...maybe someone will want a chewed on book.
