Twilight

I took Little Sister to see Twilight to see what all the buzz was about. Mind you - I knew nothing of the story other than they were vampires and everyone seems to be all gaga over the books / this movie.

So um yeah, now I know who Edward Cullen is, and why so many LJ'ers seem to have them on their icons.

The movie was awesome and full of greatness and it reminded me why I liked vampire topics when I was a teen (and thus filed my canine teeth into points...don't worry I have no plans for a repeat performance of that and have since stopped using metal nail files.)

I probably won't ever read the books, but found the movie highly entertaining and can't wait for more. Little Sister leaves for Mexico on the 16th and will be back on the 4th. I got her a mall gift card for the Laguna Hills Mall (actually it is a Simon giftcard so she can go to any Simon Mall - I just know that she and her friends go to LHM a lot.) I also got her a pink notepad with a magnet (she can stick it in her locker or something) and it has a "C" (since her name is as odd as mine and neither of us will ever find personalized stuff with our names spelled correctly.) We went to Islands and got tiki tenders (chicken strips) and then went to the movie. Awesome way to end 2008, now I have 2009 to look forward to with her.

yeah, I think Edward Cullen is full of hotness! I haven't seen the movie, but like you, I like vampire stories (although, I never filed my teeth). I read the books and have a somewhat love/hate relationship with them. I think the writing is weak, but I love Edward. I'm so lame.

Sounds like a great time with little sister. Funny enough, my name, Miranda, is hardly ever findable on any of those nifty name magnets or key chains. David has found it once and immediately bought the key chain. It's a heart that says Miranda and he actually has it on his keychain. ;)

He's a little bit fem looking to me (I know, I know the whole vampire thing), but I kept thinking to myself, "that must be eyeliner / lipstick..." LOL, but his intensity and the sexual tension in the movie was wow friggin hot!

And I looked up the books (yeah now I am borrowing them from a co-worker) and they are for young adult, so I don't expect tooooo much, LOL. :-)

That is funny about the name thing because your name is spelled the normal way! And that is very cute about David's keychain!

Okay what's funny is that I looked up some images of the Edward guy (Rob?) and without the makeup - he is pretty damn hot!

Oh goodness, I just looked up his age... I am 14 years older than him! Biologically speaking, I could be his mother!

I have heard mixed emotions and was considering seeing it, but haven't yet. I am a vampire fanatic and have been long before the books, but honestly, I worry it isn't my type of vampire story. I read a series that is both horror and erotic and I think they ruined me for anything less than including at least some violence or highly erotic scenes in them, which I hear Twlight doesn't do. So who knows. I can't convince James to see that one anyway, otherwise I might have went by now just to see what it is about.

Yeah according to wikipedia, they are written for young adults and the author said she didnt want teens reading about gratudious (sp) sex. So take it with a grain of salt.

Since I am not really a vamp addict anymore, I can just watch with amusement and appreciation similiar to what I feel over Harry Potter.
